Terms
Terms of use
These terms cover your use of Resuma, the voice note summary and transcript service on WhatsApp. By accepting them on the free trial page or by using the service, you agree to them and to the privacy policy. If this English version and the Portuguese one ever differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
Who provides the service
Resuma is provided by COMPANY NAME, registered in Brazil under CNPJ CNPJ, with its registered office at ADDRESS (“Resuma” or “we”). How to reach us is under Contact.
Resuma is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta.
The service
You send or forward a voice note to Resuma’s WhatsApp number and get back, in the same chat, its subject, key points and transcript. The transcript comes in the language the audio was spoken in; the subject and key points come in the language you choose: Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese or English. Replies longer than WhatsApp’s message size limit arrive in numbered parts.
Resuma accepts recorded or forwarded voice notes and audio files (m4a, mp3, ogg and aac), also when sent as a document. It does not join groups: to summarize a voice note from a group, forward it to your chat with Resuma.
To use the service you need a WhatsApp account and internet access, and you must also follow WhatsApp’s terms.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. Each Resuma account matches one WhatsApp account and is personal.
You may use Resuma for personal or work matters, but you may not resell it, offer it to others as your own service, or use it through automations that send audio in bulk.
Free trial
The free trial gives you 5 minutes of audio, across up to 2 voice notes, for 7 days, and ends at whichever comes first. It needs no card, and nothing is charged automatically when it ends: to carry on, you pick a plan.
Each WhatsApp account gets one free trial only, even if the Resuma account is deleted and created again.
Plans and minutes
Each plan gives you a number of minutes of audio a month and a length limit per voice note:
| Plan | Minutes a month | Voice notes up to |
|---|---|---|
| Light | 60 min | 2 min |
| Pro | 180 min | 10 min |
| Max | 360 min | 20 min |
- The largest voice note accepted is 20 minutes or 16 MB, on the Max plan.
- Each answered voice note uses its own length, rounded up to the second. Rejected, failed or speechless audio uses nothing.
- If a voice note is over your plan’s limit, Resuma tells you before processing, uses nothing and names the plan that accepts it.
- Minutes renew every month and don’t roll over.
Current prices are on the pricing section, in Brazilian reais. Offers, such as the launch discount on the first monthly charges, apply on the terms announced while they last. If a price changes, we will tell you on WhatsApp in advance, and the new price will only apply from the renewal after that notice.
Payment and renewal
You pay by credit card or Pix, through Stripe’s secure checkout.
- Card: your subscription renews automatically every month, charged to the same card, until you cancel.
- Pix: a few days before each renewal, Resuma sends a new Pix code in the chat. Your subscription renews once the payment is confirmed.
If a payment doesn’t go through, your plan keeps working for up to 7 days while we retry the charge or resend the Pix code. After that, the subscription ends and the plan’s minutes stop applying.
Where applicable, we issue a service invoice.
Cancellation and withdrawal
To cancel, send cancel in the chat. Your subscription stops renewing, and the plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. There is no fee and no partial refund for the current period.
Right of withdrawal. When you subscribe to a plan, you can change your mind within 7 days of signing up and get back everything you paid, as article 49 of Brazil’s Consumer Protection Code provides. To do so, write to the email under Contact within that time. The refund goes back to the same payment method.
Deleting your account with delete cancels your subscription at once, without a refund for the current period, except for the right of withdrawal.
Acceptable use
When you use Resuma, you agree to:
- send only audio you have the right to share, respecting the privacy and rights of the people in it;
- not use the service for illegal activity, to harass, stalk or monitor people, or to process content that infringes anyone’s rights;
- not try to get around limits, create accounts to get more than one free trial, overload the service, or copy or reverse-engineer the system;
- follow WhatsApp’s terms and policies.
Your content
Your voice notes and what they contain remain yours, or whoever holds the rights to them. By sending a voice note, you allow us to process it only to produce and deliver the reply, as described in the privacy policy.
We don’t keep the audio, transcript or summary, so we can’t resend an old reply. Keep whatever you want to hold on to in your WhatsApp.
Limits of AI
Summaries and transcripts are produced by artificial intelligence models and can contain mistakes, omissions or misheard passages. Anything unclear is marked as inaudible and never knowingly made up, but the model can still get things wrong.
Check anything important against the original audio, and don’t rely on Resuma as your only source for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Resuma running all the time, but it depends on WhatsApp, the AI providers and the internet, and may sometimes be slow or unavailable.
We may change, improve or remove features. If a change takes away something essential from your plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel. If the service shuts down, we will give you notice and refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
Messages from Resuma
By accepting these terms, you agree to receive WhatsApp messages from Resuma about your voice notes and your account, such as replies, the end-of-trial notice, low-minutes notices and renewal notices.
Send stop to stop receiving messages and start to get them again. Stopping messages does not cancel your subscription: for that, send cancel.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts the service or other people at risk, telling you on WhatsApp whenever possible.
You can close your account whenever you like by sending delete in the chat.
Liability
We are responsible for the service as set out in Brazil’s Consumer Protection Code. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of a summary without checking the original audio, for failures of WhatsApp or of your connection, or for the content of the voice notes you send.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is always on this page, with its date. If a change is significant, we will tell you on WhatsApp before it takes effect and, where needed, ask you to accept again. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. You can bring any dispute before the courts where you live.
Before that, talk to us: most problems are solved in the chat. You can also file a complaint on consumidor.gov.br.
